The coordination of didactic lectures and presentations, pre-cadaver lab discussions and instruction during cadaver labs are the perfect combination for teaching external fixation. I think that any resident who wants to perform external fixation should be required to attend this seminar. It was amazing to sit through the lectures and see experienced physicians, both Orthopedic and Podiatric Surgeons, absorbing so much new cutting edge information that they can augment their practices with on Monday morning. It was also impressive to see the interaction between residents, attending's and faculty in the labs and during informal discussions. Getting all the printed information and lectures on a USB drive is a brilliant way to disseminate the copious amounts of information for later review. Please go ahead and sign me up now for next years meeting as I cannot wait to see how you will take it to the next level for 2011.
